Admitted in New York; New Jersey admission pending

Grace Shim is a family law attorney who brings careful preparation, attentive listening, and practical judgment to her work with clients. She understands that divorce and other family law matters can affect nearly every part of a person’s life. Her goal is to help clients understand the legal and practical issues they are facing, identify their priorities, and make informed decisions about how to move forward.

Grace’s practice is devoted exclusively to family law. She assists clients with divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, equitable distribution, domestic violence, relocation, post-judgment applications, and other complex family law matters. She approaches each case thoughtfully, developing strategies that reflect the client’s circumstances, concerns, and long-term goals.

Before joining Keith Family Law, Grace developed a strong foundation in matters involving children and families through New York Law School’s Family Law Clinic, offered in partnership with Family Legal Care. There, she assisted self-represented individuals with custody, visitation, child support, paternity, parentage, grandparents’ visitation, and relocation matters. She also gained experience with the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, Juvenile Division, and the Domestic Violence Bureau of the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office.

Grace earned her Juris Doctor from New York Law School, where she served as Senior Editor of the ABA Family Law Quarterly. In that role, she contributed to family law scholarship and mentored junior editors. She also received several academic and leadership honors, including the Harris Keenan & Goldfarb Advocacy Certificate, the Dean’s Award for Student Leadership, the Dean’s Scholarship, and the Renee Libin Memorial Scholarship.

Before entering the legal profession, Grace was a professional violinist, violist, and educator. She performed at Carnegie Hall and throughout North America, South America, and Asia, and served on the faculties of Manhattan School of Music and New York University. Her years as a performer and teacher strengthened the discipline, patience, composure, and close attention that now shape her approach to legal practice and client service.

Grace lives in Bergen County, New Jersey, and is fluent in Korean. Grace joined Keith Family Law in 2026 and is committed to helping clients navigate difficult transitions with clarity, sound judgment, and steady advocacy.
